Most Worshipful Grand Master of Masons in Colorado
Vernon Turner was born in KY and grew up in Michigan. After serving in the Marine Corps and attending Easter Michigan College he moved to Colorado in 1974. He is lifelong entrepreneur having worked at and owned several businesses throughout his career. His interest in history and antiques lead him to his 27 year ownership of Lost Era Antiques and Collectibles and Turner Antiques and Appraisals. Vern is a licensed Personal Property and Antiques Appraiser. Prior to these businesses, Vern was a licensed real estate agent and owned a landscaping business for 20 years.
Vern’s family history in Masonry goes back to the Revolutionary war. His father, two brothers and uncles are Masons. Vern was raised a Mason in 1980 and has served as Master of Cripple Creek Lodge #96 in 2000 and 2007. He has also served as Master of Tejon Lodge #104 in 2013. His interest in Masonic history lead to a leadership role with the Colorado Masonic Library and Museum Association. Serving as a trustee for approximately 30 years, the Library and Museum Association has grown it’s collection and fund raising programs.
Vern and his wife of 41 years, Ann, have two sons, Eric and Jake. Vern served for 14 years in leadership positions with the Boy Scouts of America, Pikes Peak Council. He was awarded the Citizen of the Year Award by BSA, Pikes Peak Council in 1998. Eric and Daniel are both Eagle Scouts.
Vern and Ann are very proud of these sons who completed college degrees and have successful careers. Eric and his wife Ashley have a daughter, Violet.
