Grand Lodge of Colorado

Grand Master
M.W.Bro. Charles G. Johnson, G.M.
Most Worshipful Grand Master of Masons in Colorado

What an Honor . . .

. . .it is to serve the Grand Lodge of Colorado as your Grand Master. As the Summer Solstice has passed, it marks the countdown of shorter days culminating with the end of fall and the beginning of winter. It also marks the countdown of the terms of office for the Masters of our Constituent Lodges. This is a time for them to re-energize and complete all the goals that were set upon their installation into this Lodge leadership position. Although the days of summer are yet to emerge, it will pass quickly. September will be upon us and Lodge activities will again be in full swing. Help your Lodge meet its goals and assist with the promotion of Masonry in Colorado with participation in all your Lodge events.

The Grand Lodge Anniversary Session will be held at Highland's Lodge on Saturday August 7th. Each Lodge is entitled to three voting delegates to make decisions on the Grand Lodge budget for 2011. This event is unique among our neighboring Jurisdictions as many do not allow this type of input in developing the budget for the ensuing Masonic Year. Please take advantage of this opportunity to join with your Brethren in this important task.

During my official visits to Lodges this Spring, I found nearly all to have 'work' scheduled so as to stay busy during the summer months. Our Grand Lodge membership reports in April and May indicated a larger number of petitioners than those leaving our folds for various reasons. The future looks bright for membership after many years of trying lots of ideas and suggestions. I wish I could point to one tried and true strategy that works but it appears that the dedication of our members as well as a continual support of our principles is the best message for men who are interested in our Craft.

I am proud of our Grand Lodge officer team and feel that they are committed to the service of Colorado Masons. Please feel free to contact any of them for advice, assistance with Lodge events, or questions of policy. We have many goals both for the Grand Lodge and individually but we all work together to deliver the message of Masonry to our Brethren.

Keep workin' on your goals, keep promotin' this great Fraternity of ours, and always. . .

Keep Smilin',

Charlie Johnson
